Hefeweizen with cherries
Hefeweizen is a revered beer style, and not many brewers experiment with that style, which is a pity, as it’s also very versatile and unique beer.
So we took this beer and added Morello cherries to it. The result is dark red and hazy beer where hefeweizen and cherries blend into the beautiful fruity, and sour duet, that lets each side to shine while creating something entirely new.
Experience: Fluffy high heffe head has some pink tinge from cherries. The same cherries painted hazy beer into the deep red.
Aroma has sweet bananas and spicy clove but that’s not all, there is the new juicy, fruity tone in the air. Cherries again.
The sip starts very much like you expect from the heffe. Effervescent bubbles and mellow sourness from the wheat. But the ending is different. Before diminishing as refreshing quaff, the cherries step on the stage. The soft sourness of the wheat hand baton over to the cherries and show can go on. There are red berries and fruity juiciness for cherries and maybe, just maybe, a hint of brett-like bitterness.
In the end, there is bittersweet stone fruit with flashes of clove and banana here and there.
